BackgroundIran Freedom Foundation, (IFF) a non-profit, tax deductible oraginization formed in August 1979. To oppose the newly formed Islamic Republic of IRAN under Khomeini. Through the press release of October 10, 1979, which was widely reported by the press and media, including UPI and AP, the IFF condemned both the autocratic corruption and repression of the Shah's regime as well as the bloody theocratic practices of the Khomeini regime's system of misrule. The fundamental purpose of the IFF is to protect and enhance the human and civil rights of Iranians and promote the establishment of secular constitutional democray in IRAN. The primary activities of the IFF are: disseminate information about IRAN; dispel misinformation; organize demonstrations and gatherings; develop new ideas concerning the future of IRAN as a sovereign and democratic nation; and to involve and activate others who see the true nature of the present regime and the plight of Iranians. The IFF provides information and opinions for the media, and institutions of higher learning in the form of interviews, articles and analysis relating to IRAN's social, economic and political affairs. The founder-president of the IRAN FREEDOM FOUNDATION, Ali A. Tabatabai, who had become the most visible and out-spoken opponent of Khomeini's bloody regime came under constant threats which culminated in his assassination by a terrorist agent of the Khomeini regime on July 22, 1980 in Bethesda, MD, in the vicinity of the United States capitol. This assassination marks the beginning of the Khomeini regime terrorism at the international level. The assassin fled to Tehran, where he still lives under the protection of the so-called Islamic Republic. The assassin, an American citizen, confessed to his crime, in detail, on video-tape, produced by ABC News' 20/20 program which aired on Friday, January 19, 1996. To this day no open and official claim has been placed against the murderous mullahs at the helms of the Islamic Republic by the United States. Following the assassination of Ali A. Tabatabai, his brother M.R. Tabatabai has been appointed president of the Iran Freedom Foundation and serves as its sole spokesman. |
